Victory Through Worship

Victory Through Worship

When we read through the Bible, we see the faithfulness of God in the lives of the people who  entrusted their lives to Him, who purposed in their hearts to live for Him and serve him.  I  will mention a few:  Joseph, David, Daniel, our Lord Jesus Christ, The Apostles

In Acts 16:16-40. After Paul and Silas delivered a slave girl- in verse 20, they were brought before the magistrates after  the crowds rose against Paul and Silas.  The magistrates tore their clothes in anger. Paul and Silas were threatened, judged and put in prison.  But at midnight they raised their voices in worship and lifted up their eyes unto the Lord. And in verse 26 “ Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.

There is something about worship which comes out of a surrendered heart which touches God. When Paul and Silas worshipped God in spite of their distress, He intervened. They made a conscious decision to surrender their case to God as they prayed and sang to the Lord. When worship becomes a lifestyle, you worship God as the Father.  You sing TO HIM and NOT about him. Such worship causes God to show up as you enter a realm were demons cannot have access. They cannot follow you into that secret place where you are face to face with the Lord, in heart to heart communion with him. This is a place of intimacy with God.  For in this place God arises and scatters his enemies as we read in Psalm 68:1 ‘Let God arise and let his enemies be scattered.’  The enemies of your destiny and progress will see God not you and they will give way.

Let’s pray

Today Lord, I thank you for who you are in my life, my saviour, my redeemer, the one whose blood cleanses me and makes me whole again, my strong tower, my shelter, defender, yes your mercies endure forever, you keep promise to a thousand generation, only you are holy, only you are faithful. I worship you, for there is no one like you. I give you praise, for you are my righteousness, you are king forever. Your name is holy, your throne is holy, your word is holy, you are the alpha and omega. From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same I will praise your name.

Thank you Lord, in your name I worship. Amen
